In 2015, the Student Office of Sustainability and Student Government Board created the Pitt Farmer’s Market to bring local food vendors to campus! Now, each spring and fall, the University hosts Pitt Farmer’s Markets every week in front of the William Pitt Union.
The Pitt Farmers Market returns fall 2021! Pitt Farmer’s Markets take place each Thursday from 10:30am – 2:00pm. The market will open on Thursday, September 2 through our Harvest Festival on Thursday, October 28.
2021 Season Vendors:
- Ferris Farm
- Jak's Bakery
- Kyle's Cakes N'at
- La Palapa
- Le's Oriental
- The Greek Gourmet
- The Pie Place
- Smokeland BBQ
- Victory Farms
Students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome to shop any of our local vendors selling lunch, baked goods, produce, beverages, and more! All vendors accept Dining Dollars, Lunch Money, Panther Funds, cash, credit, and debit.
Do not forget to bring your reusable bag! All Pitt Farmer’s Markets aspire to be zero-waste, working closely with vendors to ensure this mission. Vendors are required to serve meals in compostable containers, prohibited from using disposable single-use bags, and all leftover food that cannot be reused is recovered for food donation by the Food Recovery Heroes.
Composting drop-off service is available to the public. Attendees are welcome to bring compostable items from their dorm room, office, or home to the market to drop-off at a staffed compost drop-off station. Learn more about what is accepted in campus compost here.
